V8SC+DTM+SuperGT?

Now wouldnt that be cool!
DTM and SuperGT are already moving to common rules in a coupla years....

If the V8s have to be so far removed from road cars like they are now, it makes sense to make them compatible with series in other countries if possible.
However, I honestly don't see it happening... Not with out different aero and body rules between them.

No show I reckon BMW will be to far ahead of the curve for those V8 SC's I reckon either that or V8SC's will regulate BMW so much I don't see them wasting there time.

I'd prefer to see a combined DTM-Jap Super GT Formula series now there would be the fastest tin top series on the planet and Toyota/Lexus entering the LFA.

What? How would they be? Not possible with the rules.

Combined DTM and SuperGT is going to happen.
They are settling on the the same rules and there are plans for a series in the states

Easy as for any manufacturer to enter V8SC now with the way the cars are made.

The only thing ford or holden about the chassis is the panels glued to the outside and held on with a few rivits.

A few hours in the day and you could convert a ford to a holden, or back the other way,
so probably not much harder to fit some BMW or Toyota body panels on the outside and run it,
all the V8SC panels are custom made anyway.
Don't think they use many parts from the road car, if any in the COTF plans.

the badge on the front would be my bet as the only part you can swap between the race and road cars.
They don't even use road car windscreens anymore

So essentially what you're suggesting is a revival of Group 5 racing? Silhouette cars effectively, probably with stricter rules nowadays. Or is it more like TransAm?

Well if you put it that way, all the above mentioned series are already like that.

Absolutely, however more like Group 5 in the sense it's a worldwide formula. Need more Supertourers.

Yeah I think that would be awesome!
How about the V8s, DTM SuperGT and the US series having their own seasons.
And then the top 4 or so teams from each series then having a "World champs" series? 3 races in each region?
Brands hatch, spa, Hockenheim then say road atlanta, watkins glen and Laguna Seca, then on to Hampton Downs, Phillip Island and Bathurst. Then Suzuka, Aida and Fuji. Then maybe 3 races in other palces like Dubai, Singapore etc.
Would be cool..... However I'll eat my hat if it happens like that!

Read in Top Gear magazine that theres only 17 individual components shared between a xr8/fpv road car and the v8sc equivilent.
guessing the badges are 2 of them

Can kinda see how little of a real car is in there.

I still regret not getting some pictures of the TKR car without the rear guards etc on when was worked for them a few years back.
Was amazed at how little actually holds them together.

That would be cool

Could well be Lexus's global attack on motor racing series as there was alot of talk of the LFA entering FIA GT,Super GT and the LeMan 24 hour race.So entering the IS-F in the V8 Supercars would be nice.
