Bee*R 1ggte installation ?

Postby Brawler » Fri Oct 29, 2010 6:10 am

Hey guys

Got a Bee*r rev limiter half installed on my car, running gen 3 1ggte.

wee bit stuck tho.....

I have wired up the 12v, ground and the RPM signal (yellow wire) up.

The light on it comes on at 2500rpm (like it should to start limiting)

But I can't seam to work out where the "Ignition signal" Wire is.
From what I've read you slice into the wires, not cutting it in half and joining 2 ends etc...

Also I haven't wired up the handbrake switch, Do i need this going to make it work?

So just wanting to know what ecu pin i connect the ignition signal wire to
zing! Sig got nuked. Sorry bout that.

I am pretty sure the igniter has IG1 output that also goes to Diagnostic connector (I am not sure if your car has it)..

Yellow wire is RPM signal spliced into IGf wire (spark confirmation) if your ECU has it (most Toyotas do) otherwise coil negative like the tacho. Don't splice into the IGt signal whatever you do.

Green wire is ignition signal spliced into NE+ wire on the ECU.

Red - battery +
Black - Ground

You don't need the switch unless you want to use the REV 2 dial for "launch control". The Bee*R will still work as a normal rev limiter at whatever you've got REV 1 set to.

Switch is just a ground input. Can use the handbrake or the clutch to trigger it.

I have everything connected apart from the green wire.

Got the yellow RPM signal wire connected to the IG-

Now I know the green wire needs to splice into the NE+ wire but that isnt listed on the ECU pinout

What would be the equivalent on that pinout that would work?

Does the light still come on?

Also what sort of ignition system do they run? There's like 3 ignitor confirmation signals in that pinout diagram....

Yea the light on the bee*r comes on when its ment to, just doesnt cut the revs because I can't find the other proper wire.

1ggte has a coil with igniter pack going into the dizzy

No idea then  It could be one of the various wires that are labeled as ignitor. It's weird that all the other distributor wires are named as normal (G1 and G2 reference signals, G- common ground) But there's no NE signal. I suspect that whoever made that pinout diagram incorrectly ID'd the NE wire as something else (probably one of the "ignitor" wires)

You could use a multimeter and check continuity between the dizzy plug and the ecu plug to confirm which wires are which - I wouldn't trust that pinout tbh.

Sorry I couldn't be more help man. You could splice into the IGt wire and that will cut spark but it will also throw the engine light and go into limp mode.

Good thing i don't have my check engine light hooked up 8O

Hmm, might try some of the other wires, but is it the distributer or the igniter that I need to splice into?

What wire have you got the yellow (Bee*R) wire hooked up to? I can't see a IG- wire on the pinout? Splice the green wire into G1 and that should cut the spark but it may throw the light (that you can't see  ) and throw it into limp mode (you'll know if that's the case)

The IG- wire comes off the negative side of the coil, This is where i hooked up my factory taco guage.

Ok I will try G1, If not i guess G2....Then IGF IGT etc etc....
