Ok so im organizing another meet on Saturday 13th November, for an autocross run by the Eastern Southland Car Club.
The autocross is being held just south of Balclutha
For those of you that don't know what an autocross is, it is an event where a short sprint course is set up in a paddock and you are competing to get the fastest time, you will get 3 goes at the course
As for what cars can you bring? You are welcome to bring pretty much along any car as long as it is safe, (ie. has working seat belts, securely mounted seats etc), there are four classes that your cars are graded in, A,B,C and D
A Class- under 1300cc
B Class- 1301-1600cc
C Class- 1601-2000cc
D Class- 4WD cars
(thats roughly how its classed not 100% as i haven't done an autocross in a while)
Cost:$15
Its not to harsh on your car, as its in a reasonably bump free grass paddock, but if you don't feel like thrashing your car round the paddock, they may have the club starlet that you could use (doesn't cost anything, but im sure they'd appreciate a donation for fuel.
You will also need to bring a pair of cotton overalls and a good helmet, the club does have some overalls and helmets, but not alot so would be better to bring your own.
Now as for meeting up for the cruise down from dunedin that will be up to you guys to organize that, as i will be cruising up from invercargill. But someone suggest a meet point for the dunedin guys and girls and ill update that in this post.
After the autocross we will all cruise back into Balclutha to the Rosebank Lodge to have a few drinks and for a prize giving for the day
I will update later on with more info like what time it starts, closer to the date, as they haven't yet posted this info on their website.
But feel free to ask any questions
P.S. Attendance Is Compulsory
