Source of high current welding cable

Postby sergei » Sat Nov 13, 2010 11:06 am

I am trying to find a good source of high quality welding cable for moving battery in the boot.

I am currently using jaycar cable, but insulation on it is cheap shit pvc and I can see it degrading already (even though it sat in the garage for 3years).

From what I have seen, welding cables are much better alternative as they are designed to the conditions.

So, the question is what welding supply place would you recommend in Auckland, and what your experience is with this sort of stuff.

Thanks.

Sergei.

JA Russels or Ideal Electrical. They're the two places I use for work.

I used to use a fair bit of welding cable and the cheapest place i could get it was BOC at about $16/m for 50mm stuff but it all depends on who you know and 50mm would be over kill for just about anything on a car

nah only a baby pump. that one only pumps bout 30litres/sec up a 60m bore....our big pumps pump about 100litres/sec up a 100m verticle cliff then about 2km to the irrigators. (they have powerlines plumbed straight into them though and require transformers  )
