old batteries

old batteries

I know repco takes old batteries for free, but is there anywhere that pays for them? or should i just take my hoard of shitty old batteries to repco?

Scrappies take em I think. Pretty sure they are only worth 3/5s of bugger all though, so probably not worth the effort if none nearby.

KLast i heard scrappies take them for $20 each. I have a couple of N200's (1000-1200 CCA truck batteries from my trailer) that i need to take in - also 3 car batteries. When you find out matt, hook me uuuuuuuuuuuuuuup!

51c a kg for batteries at the scrappy I was going to use..... maybe i'll shop around if you guys can get $20 8O

50c a kg is generally the going rate it depends on the type of battery for how much you get per battery, We had a few 150 amp hour AGM (absorbed glass matt similar to the gel batteries) batteries that were like 50 kgs each so yea 25 dollars a battery, regular car battery maybe like $10 $15 depending on how heavy they are

at the moment ya get approx $1 per "plate" size. small 9 plate batteries$8-9
larger 11 plate $10-11 etc

I took two batterys in to a scrap dealer and they where paying 50c a kilo

Scrap battery prices have come way down since last christmas.

At work they check closely what and when and how much we get for them as we have heaps of battery to get rid of,
Enough that every few weeks we get a forklift to load them onto the truck, lol.

Last Christmas I think they got as high as $1500/ton?

those metal man c**ts are rip off artists too in my experience.

future metals or something in avondale pay pretty well for alloy etc, im sure they do batteries too?
