Yet another GTT electrical fault

I know for a fact that this, or a slight variation of this has been asked before. I think the well known "C" Relay is playing up on my 1998 Caldina GTT The Speedo, Odo, and Rev counter are not functioning and the engine light is on. Am I correct in thinking this is that one relay that always seems to have dry solders? Also I once (a looong time ago) stumbled across a wiring diagram for this, here. I've tried to find it to no avail. Any body have any clues to it's where abouts?

Dunno what the "C" relay is that you're talking about, but most Caldina dash faults I've seen are dry joints in the actual dash cluster

Speedo & Rev-counter dying is a fairly common problem on GTT's - as mentioned a bad or worn solder. The check engine light is most likely a "speed sensor fault"

Here's the problem & I fixed it by soldiering the chip back on:

Edit: I see the link to the pic no longer works. From memory the faulty solder is around where the LCD odometer is. Let me know if you need a pic & I'll see if I can dig one out.

Thank you ever so much, both of you. Have no clue where I unearthed ""C" Relay" from, but seeing as this DOES regularly happen, I now have a clue and can explain this to my Friend (Auto sparky) to rectify this problem

It's fairly simple if you want to have a crack at it yourself (just need screwdrivers & a soldering iron).

Same sort of issue for me but I don't think it could be something to do with this chip? Reason being is I have an Apexi RSM wired into the wiring from Computer to Cluster, and when the needles die on the Cluster the RSM also drops to 0.

Does anybody know if fixing the Chip in the cluster could fix it? (would the chip send signal back through the wiring?)

It doesn't occur very often, in fact it has only done it three times in the last 6 months, so I'm not too worried, but if anybody has got any ideas?

Normally the signal goes this way:

Speed sensor -> Speedometer -> ECU. If there is fault with speedometer, it will mean that ECU will not get speed signal.
