It will be in behind the speedo or the drivers kick panel, using your ears should locate it fairly quickly.
It is a myth that emos are contagious, and you may be infected. However, it is still widely accepted to wash your hands after physical contact

Honestly, it's probably not worth the drama. I got used to mine pretty quickly - had my caldy 6 years now.
