W58 to AE85...

Postby stalker » Fri Dec 10, 2010 11:37 pm

Tried searching, but my male vision got the better of me! (Ie. I got board after 10min of reading)

What I want to know is:
When putting in my W58 into my AE85, what crossmember can I use??

Will a W58 one work if I just re-drill the holes to match up with the AE mounting points? Or is there some pain in the a$$, complicated thing I have to do to make it work?

Cheers all

cert man will most probably require more than just 2 holes,
think the last one i did i cut the feet of the mount off, bolted them to the chassis and modified the rest of the mount to suit

Read somewhere (maybe here or GD ?) ae85 auto ones work but still need the holes slotted slightly, the guy used his for cert but I think from memory it was using washers over the holes.

I hoarded one to try the same when I thought about putting w series in my levin, thought maybe weld the washers in place though ? Don't actually know how close a fit was as never had it dummied up.

Would let you have it to test if of interest however listed a whole lotta crap on trademe and someone has hit reserve, if is of interest its only up to $15 though....
