I'm sure there would be more people keen down Wellington way though?? Coryn, NILPSI, Brandon, Luke and even Mike could meet you guys on the way down?

F*** pen pals, I want my JJ back!

Not trying to speak for others but given past conversations I doubt Coryn would attend. Sam didn't attend the last, so not sure. Luke will be hoping to have his turbo engine fitted (not sure if it'll be over that period) if so then he'll more than likely be wanting to attend, Reith hasn't attended any recent events that we've organised and I can't vouch for Brendon. Either way, will see next year. Will probably be an awesome event like last time, I just know I won't have the funds for it :(

Ahhh, true true. It is definitely an event to go to regardless, I hope people don't miss something that hasn't been held in like 3 years just because of the 5-6 hours to travel there (IMO that sounds like great fun!) - It's understandable that people may be short on funds but it can't be hard to put even a couple of bucks away each week to make the event - it basically comes down to who really wants to come or not I reckon (but it usually comes down to personal priorities rather than the money factor also eh) :(

I can't speak though - I've been waiting 7 months and still no luck in finding another Supra :?

Unfortunately I didnt attend the last one as my car was off the road and I didnt see the point in travelling that far to go to a Supra meet in the Trueno!

I could be keen for this one however, providing there are no more cats, possums, slippery wet roads or floods thats are going to leave my car off the road again :?

Could also be keen on a road trip with you wellington folks, mabee we could organise that closer to the date?

Yep I probably won't attend but a good day out with a few Supra's on hand will be at the GTR-Elite Track-day at Taupo on the 31/1/2011 Auckland Annervisary weekend on the Monday. These are something the Supra community should look at doing and you get to run around with the arch nemesis of the Supra the GTR's.seetle a few scores on the way and have heaps of fun at the sametime.

on the whole, most supra owners seem to chicken too get on the track.

the cars are far more capable than the person behind the wheel

yep, and those people who moan about there not being a track event arent prepared to have their own wallet on the line.

As mentioned before... there is no reason a seperate track day for supras cant be organised.

That $800 or so that I put aside will be $800 or so I can put into my engine, clutch, brakes, etc. Unfortunately my priority is to get my build done sooner rather than later :)

You front up with the $5500 to hire Taupo track 2, or the $7500 to hire the whole thing, and lets do it.............

There isn't enough supras to full a track day, better off to have a supra group or groups at a Playday on Track.

There is enough you just do a 1/2 1/2 day the morning you can use the back straight to do a drags and for those who want to do a track outing you do it afternoon and you do it at a venue like Taupo you can kill 2 birds with one stone you could run a dyno day in one of the garages have a food stand in or near the pit entry hence why I reckion Taupo is an ideal venue. You can organise the day into whatever people want to do.

I reckon if Taupo was used as a venue and it wasd organised you'd get 50 Supra's no worries and with a multi purpose venue how hard could it be.

How did it go at Manfeild, did the working bee pay off? Still keen to go for a blat in that thing sometime - the only turbo JZA80 I've ever been in are still stock sequential factory ones (belonging to OG Toyspeeders Gadget and ZMOKIN) and quite keen to experience one with a single turbo and a bit of urge :)

Too expensive.

Do the maths
Full Day track hire $7500 / 50 entrants $150 a pop.
Dyno hire - be at least a grand probably closer to 2K (or even higher), say 30 people do dyno runs thats $66 a run. PLus Hiring pit garages, you either need 80-100 vehicles to make it viable, or find someone who is willing to fork out $3+K to be a naming right sponsor for the event (yeah right)

Is a $150 per person to have run over a track expensive is it a normal track-day costs in the vicinity anyways. With regards to the dyno its just an option the key thing to make the event a success is to get a multi faceted venue so you can run different events over the given day instead of going from place to place to place basically by centralising the event at one venue it makes the event easier to run.

Depends on when you have it also as during a week day it may be cheaper as we are doing the GTR Elite day and thats $130 per driver and whose to say they may well get more.

The toyspeed track-day was a good example it was cheaper though at $85 per head to do the day. They also had sponsors put up product for prizes and what not.

Yeah, Manfeild is a heap cheaper than Taupo to hire though, and it actually ended up costing me money

that is my point exactly... suprafest is better off with more cheaper events and im not going to put my wallet on the line for a supra only track day. I was very lucky to only have to cover a few expenses of suprafest.
