Anyone know when the mechanics open?

Postby celica_xr9145 » Mon Dec 27, 2010 5:02 pm

Does anyone know when the majority of mechanics are back to work?

I have a fairly loud whine coming from rear diff and suspect its low on diff oil and unfortunately dont have the tool to take off the filler bolt.

Need to head up to Queenstown in the near future but dont think its good for the car to drive with no diff fluid :?

what tool do you need to remove the filler bolt?
is it one of those square type ones?
if so may just be a 3/4 square, just give a go with what tools you have.
get foreign objects involved if need be

Did you break them by using consent force, ive done that a few times, the best way From my experience is to tap them off, seized nuts im meaning, with a rubber hammer or something

Rachets are for undoing things once they have been cracked loose. A breaker bar is what you're supposed to use to undo tight things  It's no wonder you have 2 broken rachets
