The four seasons in Australia consist of "$&#$% it's hot", "Can you believe how $&#$% hot it is?", "I won't be in today because it is too $&#$% hot" and "Yes, the dinner plate size spiders come inside to escape from the heat."

Don't import anything between 1990 until about 2005 (ish) if you want to get it road registered!

Got a mate in Hamilton who Imports cars for a living. He mainly deals with new Legacy B4s and Mazda 6s but has gotten in the odd Evo/STI/RX8 in the past.

PM me if you want his details.

Yes, although now retired from the car business I still import to order and still get daily stocklists from Jap suppliers I've dealt with since 1987.

What sort of car have you got in mind? Generally speaking you can't comply/make road legal a lot of the pre 2003 cars etc. Also bear in a mind of lot of the "performance" cars are very very expensive in Japan compared to NZ Prices. That's why company's like Fast4's buy from local market now instead of importing. There are lot of hidden costs such as compliance issues that may arise: damaged chassis, snow tyres etc etc.
