Was a big hit into the wall over the line, serious pace involved. Cage did its job very well, front of the car was farked but passenger cell largely untouched.

Believe he's sore from hitting the steering wheel, that thing was pretty bent! Was very relieved to hear that he was okay.

At the time he was racing against py7hon, if he had gotten off the line a bit quicker then we could have been looking at two seriously lunched cars...

Cause was tentatively blamed on diff exploding, locking rear wheels and sending him across both lanes and into the wall

Was a day of incidences, that crash coupled with the Abbot RX7 one + RIPS rail fail made for average racing.

Awesome that John came out okay.

Faaaarrrrrkkkk..... Sorry to hear, audiman. Hope this doesn't get you down enough to quit :(
Motorsport is like sex. You could take it to track and have a long, enjoyable session, or you could take it to the strip and get it over with in less than 20 seconds.

Dude, such a bugger, such an awesome car!! Glad you're okay. Another accident that has proved Drag Racing is one of the safest sports out there.

So the rips rail is also bent?

Not bent, but made a huge smoke screen out the exhaust half way down the track. Had rattled off 2 7.4's the previous 2 runs though.

heard about audimans crash and saw the car on the tow truck, best wishes to him.

the RIPS rail has most likely lost a piston/rod out of the block, had a look at the car and the guys were pulling out table tennis sized chunks of ally from under the motor

I'm lost for words. The amount of times he has been down the strip. I was so sure he'd get that thing into the 8's. Such a shame and such a massive loss!

I'm just constantly jaw dropped that it happened - so so sad :(

On the other hand - VERY pleased he's ok! Just goes to show the level of safety these high end cars now have. Roll cages for everyone I say.
