Wiring diagram - AE82 (chassis/lighting) - anyone have?

Postby 91 ZERO » Fri Jan 28, 2011 10:36 pm

Have done a search but can only find ECU diagrams.

Have a fault in my lighting loom, and need a detailed diagram, anyone have one I can look at please?

None of the lighting on the car has worked since I got it and it was messed with by the previous owner. I have got the indicators working, but have got to a point where I need a diagram to fault find the rest of it.

Interesting thing to note is that the brake light switch has 12V to it when the brake is not pressed, but as soon as you press the pedal, it looses its voltage. The wireing to the lights themselves is fine (checked by supplying battery voltage and all lights work) so the fault is somewhere in the power supply for the brakes. I am assuming its the same for the head/tail/park lights.

The 12V vs brakelight switch sounds like an earthing problem.

So, you have no lights at all?
Indicators?
Park?
Tail?
Dip/full beam?
Interior?
Dash?

Unplug/clean/plug connectors to the indicator/lights/wiper combo switch.
Also check any earths in this area are bolted to the chassis.

I will see if I can find loom diagrams for ae82 - efi or carby?

I used to think that the orange and green tictacs gave you special powers. The orange ones would make you stronger and the green ones would make you faster. So i used to eat some green ones and run around my lounge as fast as i could, then eat the orange ones and try to pick up the sofa. I wish it were true!
