Covering Wide Tyres

Postby Boosted_162 » Wed Feb 02, 2011 8:23 pm

Hey guys.

Just picked up myself a new daily from a mate, another *cough*Nissan*cough*.

Its a D21 Terranosaurus thats on 15x7 wheels and 31" all terrains iirc. Problem being that not having the factory flares or anything the wheels stick out.

I had planned to get some rubber strips and basically just attach it to the inner guard so it sticks out and covers them - is this legal? The truck is a bit rough so dont wanna get fibreglass ones or anything.

Cheers

Yep, can be rubber flares. I think its a stupid tulr, you can make them out of paper aslong as it covers the tread... so why bother with anything?

Awesome, anyone know the best place to get said rubber?

I would of imagined it would at least need to stop flying debris off the tyres?!

you have to have them covered because it will aparently flick up stones etc at oncoming cars and kill babies
The four seasons in Australia consist of "$&#$% it's hot", "Can you believe how $&#$% hot it is?", "I won't be in today because it is too $&#$% hot" and "Yes, the dinner plate size spiders come inside to escape from the heat."

Sorry for possibly silly question, but why not buy the flares from one being parted out?

Looks stock / not rangi, less farting about trying to attach bits onto something that isn't meant to be in it... just a thought ;)

editJust realised with the bigger wheels they may not fit - guard rub FTL? :?

Conveyor belt rubber works well too holds its he shape well if you rub them up against a tree or hard object off road.
