Koya Wheels

Postby AE82 FXGT » Wed Feb 16, 2011 5:57 pm

Hey all, I am looking at maybe purchasing some new wheels for my RX8, they have to be 18" to get over the brakes (I think, it doesn't look like 17s would clear the caliper).

At the moment I am looking at getting some Koya Drift Teks in gold, has anyone had any experiences with Koya wheels? I know the Drift Teks are quite popular, I have sent an email asking how much they weigh/price etc...

I also know that Drift Teks are a Bee*R B5 copy which is what is making me question the quality of the wheel.

Yes I would like a set of Volk/Rays or Work but can't really justify spending $2500+ on them...

The quality Is sweet dude, most drifter sheep dweebs were rolling drift teks when they came out and I've never seen one break after years of ripple strip abuse.

You'll be fine, buy them and be content with your purchase.
It is a myth that emos are contagious, and you may be infected. However, it is still widely accepted to wash your hands after physical contact

koya are a sweet wheel and they have some really nice/classy designs to choose from but please i'm begging you don't put drifteks on an rx8! there are soo many better (and less thrashed by skyline farqtards) wheels available.

sorry that is just my opinion.

The Drifteks seem real good bang for buck, would be struggling to find other decent 18" wheels for less than $1300 a set.

People got any recommendations for wheels that would suit an RX8?

Yeah saw that too, but the Nismo spokes aren't on as much of an angle as the Bee*Rs or Drifteks.

The TE37 rip offs from DTM don't have that nice curve to them though...

Should get user Gojira to post picks of his 180sx with TE37's they feature much nicer shape than the DTM's

Ah, meant the TE's do, not the GT's, but they could pull off the look.

Just out of interest, Whats the cost of some TE37s in 18 inches?

They do depending on offset again.
Just like work emotion cr kia's, they look awesome with the correct offset so they have a concave look otherwise they look crap.

I was really disappointed by the RX8 I test drove, in comparison to my RX7 (6 speed MSP engine).
