idle speed at start

Postby Tagged » Wed Apr 06, 2011 2:29 pm

Hey guys,

My black top AE111 always seem to have higher idle when I 1st start the engine (eg. 1st time of the day) around 2k rpm. After a while it drops back down to around 1.2k.

Whats the reason for this? I suppose this is the ECUs doing?

Thanks

completely normal, especially when the weather is getting colder.

When cold it does not run properly on low idle (hard to ignite, needs to run richer, etc.), it is done to prevent stalling.
