Best 4" speakers

What are the best 4 inch speakers? I would like some good sound to suppliment 6 inch speakers in the parcel shelf of my AE92, but I don't want to carve any holes in the door cards to put 6 inchers in the front. I'm willing to spend some decent money ($100 and upwards); the sound out of the average set of $40 Supercheap/Repco Sonys or Panasonics just doesn't quite cut it.

So, what does TS think? Am I wasting my money spending more than $40 on 4 inch speakers, or are the dearer ones actually worth it? Any suggestions of features to look for? Good places to shop North Shore/Auckland?

Kicker DS400 would be a good little speaker, or DLS do a co-ax 4" which sounds pretty decent for the size.

I had some focal 4" speakers in my charade and they were great although they were cranking off an amp.

kickers are definatly a good buy. also pioneer had some little amrid fibre ones too but kicker will beat on price

I have a pair of soundstreams, they're a proper 2-way with x-over and go real good off an amp or HU.
