Wellington swap meet & car display. Trentham. Sun 22nd M

Hey everyone.

On Sunday the 22nd of May Capital Rodders is hosting the Wellington swap meet & vehicle display. The swap meet and car display will be held at the Trentham Race Course in Upper Hutt. A map can be found below.

This will be an all automotive swap meet but covering all areas of vehicles. Jap, American, Euro, British etc. Anything and everything automotive is welcome.

A question commonly asked is "what is a swap meet?". The classic kiwi swap meet is where sellers gather up all of their automotive gear they want to sell from home/the shop, chuck it in the boot or onto the trailer and arrive at the venue as early as possible to get the best selling spot. The punters (buyers) also arrive early trying to find that bargain or hard to come by part. Much like trademe buy without the large fees and is a fun day out for all.

Entry is $5 and kids under 12 are free if accompanied by an adult. Plots are $15 including the drivers entry fee so that's only $10 to sell as much gear as you can stuff into the wagon!!

Undercover trade space is available.

Pm me for more info or ring Gavin on 021-738-476

No imo, the displays are usually about showing off old cool cars, not new stuff. Down here that's how they roll anyway. 4s and rotas might suit your car

If it's tidy and been modified to some point I'm 99% sure that's special interest. Will ask the old man tonight for ya :)

The thing we are trying to create is bringing all vehicles together. We don't want another all American day (in the nicest of ways).

Just confirming now that any make of car that is special interest will be let it.

As in, if it's a modified late model toyota or an early stock rx7 it'l be let it etc.

Common dude, I have already said this swapmeet and display is being pushed towards the Jap market. Show your support by turning up to put your car on display or selling a few bits. Hey if I posted this up a bit earlier we could of had a toyspeed meet and show for the day?

I know SDU were trying to sort a cruise out and a few guys from oldschool were coming down. I think we even have the morrie club cruising out...

This is what you are going to get. More or less.

There have been swap meets held at trentham before, and they get a low turn out, and very little interest. There has been a huge push on the organisers part to get all local clubs involved, with very little emphasis on the japanese side.

I won't be going, but I know people who are putting a couple of cars in.
