Is that aimed my way? I certainly don't equate the two, I was more interested to see the relationship between k sport and D2, as the K sport brand (from memory) is quite big in the US. I am happy with what I have, paid $&#$% all for them and will be rebuilding them so will see what I find.

Your not getting confused with KW the german brand are you, becasue D2 and K-sport can not be comapred to KW in any way

IMO both brands are fine for road use.
I think more people have D2s therefore there would be more product complaints.
Less people have K-sports therefore less complaints.

not specifically - but yours and a couple of other posts reminded me of numerous times I'd seen people use "made in the same factory as brand X" to suggest that a brand was equivalent to another. I have no experience with the quality of the brands mentioned so my comments shouldn't be taken as any form of veiled commentary on that matter.

I should have added that the reviews I had read on ksport gear was that they were quite good, and it was only this thread and someone rubbishing them on their trademe ad (selling some other brand of coilovers) that lead me to question it.

Edit: Just tried to find said reviews and cannot - though did find more NZ based ones rubbishing them.

Had a set, TERRIBLE!
Truly awful, harsh ride.

The supplier mislead me throughout the purchasing process, then acted all innocent once I complained.

ive ridden in a few cars with k-sports, all felt like i was riding on cuttys sitting on the bump stops.

in all fairness i dont know what dampness settings etc they were on

and yes k-sports are pretty big in the states, theres heaps of reviews on them from american forums similar to toyspeed
The four seasons in Australia consist of "$&#$% it's hot", "Can you believe how $&#$% hot it is?", "I won't be in today because it is too $&#$% hot" and "Yes, the dinner plate size spiders come inside to escape from the heat."

The 'ride', if you could call it that, was harsh.
Harsh enough that the company that installed them didn't understand my complaint, so experienced it for themselves. After a matter of 5minutes drive, they were back rather apologetic, and bemused.
After a month of putting up with the bone jarring, noisy ride, that all my passengers asked if there were shocks or blocks of '4 by 2' wood blocks?
Found some second hand Teins, what a revolution!
Unlike the k-sport they had travel, adjustments made a difference, and made a happy camper.
