Not long to go now...and the longest DRS zone of the season for Spain should stop it being such a processional race.

The sulking Spaniard has signed with Ferrari until the end of 2016.

Blown floors are going to be clamped back on, but not at this race in order to let the teams have some time to work out what to do.

RBR had one of their biggest advantages of the year at this track last season so it will be interesting to see if it remains so this year...

Roll on 7pm fro FP1 :)

I know Tilke did some revisions of it a while back but Im not certain who the primary designer was.

You are right, it isnt too exciting to drive, and the silly chicane at the end of the track did nothing to improve overtaking so it should be returned to its "big balls" final 2 corners.

These new super hards suck. You can see them lose heat when load is taken off the inside tyre going round a corner. They go glossy. Then when they load them up again, you see them go matte again.

Also, awesome comment from Kravitz:

"I'm walking briskly down wind to have a sniff"

Of course, he's talking about Heidfelds car that caught on fire as it was being rolled back into the pits, you perverts :P
Motorsport is like sex. You could take it to track and have a long, enjoyable session, or you could take it to the strip and get it over with in less than 20 seconds.

Awesome!! Mitch Evans got Pole, and then went on to win the first GP3 Race :) Well done to the 16 year old. I hope they show the replay later today on sky.

Cant wait for the F1 too, so many strategies to unfold.

Yeah, typical sky dont mention it on the onscreen guide so I missed the first race that he won. They are replaying it tomorrow arvo so I will record them then.

Well, some complaints about the braking zone into the chicane. Perez's shunt was nasty, and Rosberg was pretty lucky to get away with his one too.

Hamilton is predicting that Vettel will walk away with it.

Did not enjoy that bit of qualifying. Its disturbing how quickly the eerie silence comes over the crowd. It was especially bad when the sheets came out, had never seen that in a race before.

Good to see he was alright, can't believe they restarted the session. I would have thought those barriers would be a one hit affair, and at least two of them were broken before they put them back in place by ramming them with a truck. Still, I guess Whiting was on the ground and has the experience.

Hopefully Checo can shrug it off and continue his ways.

Overall, what could have been an awesome Q3 turned into a shitter.

Edit: Perez out for Monaco, Hamilton P9 for jumping the chicane - Hopefully JB can hold on for some podium points

Huh, I think there is some story I missed.

At the moment Renault is the only current manufacturer that has fully committed to the small displacement turbos (for 2013), and the Renault unit has been commented as being the best engine on the grid with regard to EBD.

On a side note, it annoys me that the engine manufacturers (Cosworth in particular) are using lack of sponsorship as a reason to stick with the v8s. A large point of the smaller engines is to make them more environmentally friendly, and hence the sport more attractive to sponsors.

The reason they pull out the sheets to cover the drivers when they remove them from the car is to save them any indignity from photographers getting a snap of them in a bad way. e.g massa in Hungary 09

Even though, I must admit to the cassual bystander, it can appear they are doing it to hide some horrible injuries.

Ollie, are you a relatively new F1 fan?

I have always been a casual observer, and long time McLaren fan, but this is the first season I have watched with any regularity, previous to that I would just check the results after a race weekend, couldn't be bothered with watching the races.

Hah, I know why they use the sheets, its just the first time I have seen them pulled out after a big shunt, and the first time I have seen the works treatment given to a stranded driver.

Renault are even asking for permission to supply more teams. So dunno where the Cosworth suggestion came from. Team Lotus are using Cosworth next year I believe.

No you might find that as of next week:

Proton are in a sponsorship arrnage with with Team Lotus, due to an agreement thta has been signed with a promise of Sponsorship if Team Lotus could legally provie they had the rights to use the name Team Lotus.

Rumor also has it that Lotus Reanult have not yet paid there Engine bills to Reanult and have now lost some sponsorship that was agreed to if they won the rights to stop Team Lotus, apparntly things are very tight for Lotus Reanult at the moment and Gen-ii, Danny Bahar sounds like he doing a pretty good job of $&#$% things up

If they don't pay the Engine bill Reanult might not supply them Engine's Williams might pick up there Reanult Engine and they will be forced to use a Cosowrth as its they can afford

Dunno about most of that, haven't heard about it.

But I'm wrong about Team Lotus, they were using Cosworth but changed. I'm getting my teams and dates all $&#$% up

Well, that seemed to be a full on race!
More points for Vettel...
Massa isn't very happy, I think he should watch more replays.
Looked like as Hamilton dived down the inside he decided quite late to try the same on Webber. Hamilton was well alongside before he turned in. And seems he hit the wall in the tunnel mainly due to trying to stay on the outside too long and ended up in the dirty stuff.

Pretty crazy race to end a crazy weekend in Monaco.

I think this is one weekend that McLaren will want to forget. There is no point pretending that Vettel one this one on any more than luck. But thats what you get in racing, sometimes you gamble and win.

Bad luck for Button and Alonso with regard to red flag I think Alonso definitely missed out on his first podium.

Hamilton, bleh, a terrible race to end a terrible weekend. He was really in the wars. I think Massa has a right to complain about the crash, it was a pretty ambitious move by Hamilton on the chicane and Massa couldn't really do much, especially with another car around. Hamilton never really got the position on Massa before he pulled in (and was all over the kerb anyway) and I don't think he had the steering lock to make it stick on the exit anyway.

Massa definitely can't complain about the tunnel crash, he got pushed wide onto the marbles and tried to keep his foot in it. Also, he should have known he had damage and therefore couldn't push his car to the full.

I think the Maldonado, Hamilton crash was completely avoidable by both parties, TBH I don't even think Maldonado was looking when he turned in, or at least didn't consider how committed Hamilton was. Either way, I know Williams would have just preferred him to get out of the way and still get the points.

I just watched this:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0CVDLBqdpwg

Hamilton is all over Massa leading up to the hairpin, makes a dive, Massa aims under Webber, now where to go. Racing incident I reckon.
