ae104 drivetrain questions

Postby 20v_rollaboy » Sat Jun 04, 2011 11:12 am

Which oil should I be using for the dif and transfer case? Also are there separate filler holes for gearbox/transfer case or is it all in one?

Will ae101 struts fit in there? Rear shocks are poked and not too fond of the king's that are in there.

What options do I have if I want to convert the rear from drums to disks? Guessing I cant use ae101 disks even if I change the hub to a splined one from the front.

Thanks :D Thats all I can think of for now

the rear struts are a bit shorter than 2wd and the bolt spacing is totally different.

transfer oil is part of gearbox oil. no seperate filler but it does have a seperate drain.

you could use 101 rear discs and calipers just need to make a new mounting bracket for the caliper to mount on. cables etc from the 2wd should attach fine.

Hmm, so what options are there for adjustables? If I change to 101 rear hubs/disks that will match the bolt spacing to 101 suspension right. Would that fix the length problem too?

you can re drill or slot the bolt hole an an ae101 rear strut to suit, it is nearly an entire bolt hole distance difference. if the adjustables are the type with threaded hub attachment points then you can wind it down/up to suit.
I used bazda's ISC Coil Overs in my AE104 sedan
