Ok well enough of this talk about will it or wont it go ahead, and more about the wonderful track that is the Circuit Gilles Villeneuve. I have always loved this track, and it always throws up great races with huge tyre degradation and overtaking, so add kers and drs and we will have a winner.

Its going to be hard staying up tonight to see the second practice session so I think I will just record them both and watch them when I get up tomorrow, but I think I might set the alarm for the Quali session on Sunday morning :)

The Mercedes powered cars should be reasonably handy down the straights too so hopefully RBR wont have it all their own way. It will be very interesting to see how the Super soft, and soft compounds can cope on that unique ashphalt. Fingers crossed for 10 laps before they go over the cliff.

Touche haha.

It was clear as he entered the chicane that he was going to say hello to our little friend. Trying to jump to the top of the timing screen a lap too early me thinks.

D'ambrosio hit the wall at a pretty severe angle, Im surprised hes not feeling any worse for wear as it was a big hit. New chassis for him tomorrow.

If FP 1 and 2 are anything to go by, the race should be absolutely crazy :)

The only real hope here is for rain I still really think RBR have this thing in hand as even without KERS even Webber was only .2 off those Ferrari's and with Mclaren running a down force package to suit wet weather well I gotta think rain and unreliability is the only thing thats going to stop the Vettel march to the title.

Its certainly going to be an interesting race mate.

Floor blown diffusers are to be banned (both hot and cold blowing) as of the British GP. Im not saying that this will make the RBR cars slow, but it will slow them down and perhaps create and imbalance in an otherwise pretty well sorted chassis. Who knows, it could be all that is needed for this year to be tipped on its head as if one car manages to minimise the losses from the ban, they could gain a few crucial tenths a lap.

Im crossing my fingers for that scenario anyhow haha :)

I find that funny how they try to ban alot of stuff when someone has a car thats clearly killing everyone else.I don't mind RBR domination it just goes to show Adrian Newey and his design team have explioted the rules better than everyone else.

What a race...... Jensen deserved that win. Quite possibly one of the most amazing drives ever....

Yip, definitly worth going to work late for that one.
Great to see vettell crack under the pressure, EPIC drive by Button, although the safety car really did help him alot considering his 6 trips through pitlane.

But none the less, brilliant way to start the day!

edit: ALso great to see Schumi battling up at the pointy end without looking/acting like a muppet

Button under investigation for 2 incidents though so the win is not sealed!

I think what happened with him and Hamilton was just a racing incident.

I hate how the media are spinning his words saying "Hamilton: Button moved across on me" when what he was really said was "Button kept moving across".
Makes his words seem like he is laying the blame on Button, where his actually words give the impression that he's saying it was a racing incident.

Given the conditions, Button kept moving towards the outside and he didn't see Hamilton in his mirrors due to the weather. Hamilton tried to pull out when he realised this, but it was too late.
Same thing with Webber really. He tried to take him on the inside, realised the door was closed, tried to back off and ended up understeering into the back of Webber.
Given his performance at Monaco though, people understandably can't help but look on it with a bad light.

Interested to see what the deal is with the investigation between Petrov and Kobayashi. Who did a bloody good job in taking back 2nd from Massa after 1 corner not long after the restart. He's pretty good in the wet, but its a shame his car wasn't as good in the dry. Was REALLY gutted to see him lose 6th to Massa at the finish line by .05 of a second or whatever it was :(

I've watched the Button incidents on youtube.
I can't imagine him being penalised for either.

Definitely Michaels best race since his return, he maximised every possibility and tool every opportunity presented to him. Finally he is getting used to running in lots of traffic without the benefit of all the blue flags that used to ease his way through.

Even with the extra pit stop he was in with a sniff until the final few laps. I had a huge smile on my face watching him hustle his car around the track this morning and Im praying that it is a sign of things to come :)

Roll on Valencia

I thought it was awesome from him how he was pushing so hard on the last lap he came from being a second or two down on Webber to about half a second across the line.

Massas grab of P6 was fantastic!

Yeah I was a bit sad about Kamui Kobayashi only finishing 7th in the end - he really deserved a better result. It was still worth staying up all night to watch though (started at 2am Japan time and went to bed close to 7am)!

The BBC commentators really weren't giving him enough credit for getting up to second by the first red flag, they just kept saying it was because he hadn't pitted yet, but he had made up positions on 5 or 6 cars on track after starting 13th. He was really quick in the wet, but the team had been having problems getting heat into the tyres all weekend and so once the track dried out and the switch was made to the dry tyres he was struggling for pace. He also was unfortunate to get stuck behind one of the lapped Virgin cars at the last safety car who blocked him badly into turn one on the restart and this was when Petrov got past (presumably with a bit of contact hence the investigation)?

I am sure there are results closer to the front on the horizon for him.. can't wait to see it!

Also in the Hamilton/Button incident, you can see Button checking his mirrors as he is moving across the track when Hamilton is directly behind him (and probably not visible in the mirrors) and just as he starts looking forward again Hamilton pulls out to try and make that stupid move.

In the other one I thought Webber gave Hamilton heaps of room at the first corner and Hamilton just under-steered into the side of him.

It will be ineresting to see what the ban on engine map changes has on this weekends GP.

While it will clearly affect all teams, it will surely affect some teams more than others, as some run far more aggressive quali maps than they do in the race.

For once the FIA have been firm in their application of a rule change and it is happening with immediate effect.

A foggy weekend on the forecast so lets cross fingers that helicopters can take of otherwise the wont be running the cars :(

Well its not ideal but atleast 1.6 litre V6 engines will sound better than 1.6 litre L4 engines.

And not until 2014 which means we can still enjoy the sound of proper high revving race engines for the 2.5 seasons :)
