Wrong turbo So confused. td04 or td05?

Postby KIPH8N » Sun Jun 26, 2011 6:47 pm

I bought a manifold and down pipe off a guy who built a 4agte silvertop.
He used a td04 and then a td05.
I bought a td05 off an evo 4 but the downpipe and manifold flange don't match up.
I want to know what turbo he used so i can use my manifold and down pipe.

This is my manifold

And my downpipe.

This is that guys project.

TD05 or TD04 from early gsr or evo 1 2 3, and e39a vr4,

They will fit the manifold, but the turbo outlets vary so your down pipe wont fit all of them

Evo 4 onwards are twin scroll

td04's and td05's will both be a direct bolt up to that manifold and dump pipe

the twin scroll td05's off the late model evos dont because they are twin scroll... eg completely different

twin scroll evo turbos aren't as usable on other things.
I would have thought that an 88k Evo2 turbo would be worth closer to $400
