Fitting Aftermarket cooling fans

I'm running out of room under my bonnet with the addition of the front mount intercooler and a twin core alloy radiator. Does anyone have any experiance with fitting dual fans on the bumper side of the radiator? Is it just as effective or nearly as effective as having them on the engine side?
