Removing Decals

Ok so not a Toyota, or even a car....

But my new bike frame is a really cool satin black. And has ugly decals on it.
They are pretty thin, can hardly feel the edge and can't get a peel started.

Any suggestions to a product or technique to removing them without harming the paint?

is it a sticker or something like on model kit sets where you soak the sheet in water to lift off the paper backing then transfer to the model?

Yeah I suspect it's a heavy duty version of that rather than a sticker.
So not sure it heat gun will work.
Are transparent and very thin. Can't peel them

if its anything like the decals I had to remove off my moutain bike years ago, then yes they are a sticker & the stuff on the back of them sticks like shit to a blanket.

Like Barry has suggested, I would try carefully lifting one corner (not scratching frame paint) & applying heat either via a heat gun or hairdryer to slowly heat up the glue underneath while at the same time gently peeling back the decal.

I have used the above method YEARS ago on a bike frame, however saying that they could quite easily changed what they used for them between way back then & now.

i used a shitload of degreaser on my bmx to get the stickers off when i painted it


(i painted my bike the same blue as my trueno with the leftover paint haha its pimpin)

not stickered then clearcoated over the top of it all is it?

If it is a sticker then use eucaliptus oil to remove the sticky residue. If its a plastic decal or sticker then heat should be the answer to remove the primary part.
