Hi everyone, just a random query, but does anyone know where I can get my hands on a set of these:

Since my wife and I both have Toyotas, I figure it would be nice to have Toyota tools for, I dunno, nostalgias sake :wink:

So, anyone know where I can get a set of these without being bent over for them?

Whats the red thing in that picture?

Definately dig through the boot of all the toyotas at pick a part. Theres always a spanner down the side of the rear gaurds. Plus if you find something just chuck it in your toolbox :lol:

The red thing is the clip that holds the spanners together...

As for Pick a part, well, in Chch there isn't one, and the Toyota wreckers is closed

, which is why I'm asking here. There is a guy in Chch specialising in used tools, but since he wanted over $10 for one tool

They werent too badly priced ex Toyota, I asked 1I1 about the tool puch aaaaages ago for lols. Still available of course, as they dont change bugger all through the years

Tried that, not much around other than knackered crap... one guy I have dealt with as I said wanted $10 for an adjustable wrench, and I was buying another version (as in exactly the same, without "Toyota' on it) at the time for less than half that :oops:

Resellers are figuring that the Toyota name makes it worth more

bit of a piss take when the set I've posted the pic of went for $20...

Hey - My Dad gave me one of those out of his Corona! All I'm missing is the chock. I've also added a few things too it.

Always thought it was an ugly case & planned to bin it, but never got round to finding something else to keep the tools in lol.

these things go for huge amounts in rarer cars

as soon as my dad got his 1983 AMG Merc, he had guys from all over the states and europe emailing him asking to buy it and the first aid kit for stupid amounts off him.

pretty sure mines still compete for my corolla

doesn't make car go faster, isn't actually useful and tool kits in cars aren't cool.

better off chucking an adjustable spanner in the glovebox and a wheel brace in the spare wheel well. will be more use.

After this thread I went and had a hunt for mine and found it,complete ae86 kit and yip all in good condition

It's about originality, a car with all the factory bits intact is worth more than one with stuff (like toolkits) missing. If it is common for these sort of bits to go missing they go up in value as you get more people wanting them in order to restore their cars to factory spec.

The cutters slot into the bottom of the hammer, the holder has those metal bits so it can attach to the carpet, and that's a flair that I need to set off at some stage. :lol:
