Toyota OEM tool kits - Where can I get one?

Just checked the Corona kit, no clip..... but that's not surprising as there is only one spanner so it would be a bit redundant. Everything else is there though in mint condition bar the chock which must have been used before... bastards!

The old Toyota logo on the sachet makes up for that though

I have an Oober JDM Toyota brand window smashing hammer/seat belt cutter if someone is stupid enough to pay me mega dollars for it.

After this thread I went and had a hunt for mine and found it,complete ae86 kit and yip all in good condition

The cutters slot into the bottom of the hammer, the holder has those metal bits so it can attach to the carpet, and that's a flair that I need to set off at some stage.

yeah the flares got removed on newer imports, I remember dads car had a similiar kit and the flare was in the passenger foot well.

I agree. I don't think I've ever used the tools included in my set (maybe the screwdriver), and they don't exactly seem high quality either. Adjustable wrench = way more useful.

Haha, OEM tool kits don't interest me. Optional extras are what I go for . Tool kits at Pick-A-Part are surprisingly rare, as for some reason they usually get taken out (along with the jack) before they get put onto the yard

You guys may say this, but while some of the quality is junk, I saw these in a landcruiser forum about Toyota OEM Tools



These are Vessel screwdrivers - they get EXCELLENT reviews, and are suited for JIS screws used in Jap cars - as in when you use a #2 screwdriver, it will actually fit properly. The Koken ones that maddog sold a while back also fit these, as the Philips they have are 'P2', not 'PH2". Adjustable wrenches = rounding off bolts IMO, I'd rather have the right fit, and if Toyota have a ready made 'kit' that I can use to get me home, awesome.

Pricey, but I guess you get what you pay for

No idea, but they put all of the jacks, jack handles and wheels braces in a shopping trolley out the back for some reason (not accessible by the public). I found that out when I went to buy a jack handle from there once. Not a single car had one so I asked one of the forklift guys and he let me dig through the trolley to find what I was after. God only knows what they do with all of the OEM wheels that come in too. They sell some of them in a container near the front entrance, but there would be hundreds more that go unseen. Often the same case with space savers too.

Yeah they must send them to Metal Man straight away to make a quick buck. I reckon they'd make more by just leaving the wheels fitted to the cars (or at least chucking them in the boot) so that people could buy them. I guess the problem with that would be that some people would only want one, whereas others would want all four, leaving random wheels lying around the yard. I need to get a job there so I can get the first pick on the stuff that comes in

Hmmm, which site have you gone to to get those prices? They're within coo-ee of the US vendor I was looking at buying the non-Toyota-branded ones from. My prices are a tad lower, but the minimum order for free shipping ($200-250US) makes it somewhat ouch-ee lol

Of course, but the time I've thrown in Koken, IPS, Vessel, Engineer and the rest, I've hit that pretty easily. Now for the $$$ top pay for them!

As another aside, the US vendor I'm looking through is www.levelchrome.com, who specialise in Japanese tools. At the mo the minimum order for free international shipping is $250US, but the tools... oh the tools!

As an aside, the wooden handled screwdrivers I've seen in old Landcruiser kits also look to be made by Vessel... I'll take a punt and reckong that the wrenches are made by KTC.

Amayama.com. They're the ones who I ordered my air purifier filter and cover from. They make the parts for Toyota, so there's no middle man if you deal directly through them. However it could be cheaper if you go through 1I1
