I don't think u get one until the fine gets lodged with the courts and you receive a letter in the mail

Pretty sure gt4dude is right. This is what it says on the Ministry Of Justice website:

"You can find your 10-digit PPN reference number on any fines notice or letter you have recieved from the Ministry of Justice."

To me, this indicates that you need to wait for a reminder notice in the mail. If in doubt, call the number on the back of the ticket when they open back up tomorrow ;)

I paid one a couple weeks back with N followed by 7 digits.

Sounds eatass to me, If you crossed the line at 45kph and made it thru the orange, changes are you were already close enough to the intersection that you would have had to skid to a halt.

What was the charge?

I think I barely made it through, that is the light probably changed before the tip of my car reached the other end. The charge was "fail to comply orange"

IMO though, the only fail in this whole thing is that the cop put my date of birth as "15/2/10"............LOL

Write a letter in and don't pay the ticket. The date of birth is incorrect, it does not hold.

Really??? I was thinking about this too but everything else is correct though, its really easy to tell that its only a mistake when the cop was copying from my license

Pay the fine, pretty sure that shit doesn't fly these days. Just keep in mind next time you're following someone slow. If the light goes orange you'll be lucky to beat the red. I just drop the anchors and block pedestrians

I had a good situation once where I went to stop at a set of lights that lead to a motorway. Turned out the truck and trailer unit behind me had no intention of stopping so I had to jam it back in gear and run the late orange which ended up being red light. Lucky I was checking my mirror or my hiace would have been turned into a hijet :?

I was being followed today, car behind wasn't that close. Went through an orange and the light went red just before I completely cleared the intersection and he was still following me at a reasonable distance. If I wanted to stop at that light which I almost did he would've been pretty close to hitting me. I don't like to run orange lights but don't feel safe when people don't want to stop for them.
