One car, two 4ages

Postby panda_dan » Tue Aug 02, 2011 6:18 pm

Was just looking to see if anyone had turned two 4ages into a 3.2L V8 when I found this interesting idea, worth a read

I stopped reading at "Le mons" to be honest...
Brute force and ignorance always prevails.

Failure comes from too little brute force, or too little ignorance.

Reminds me of the twin engine AE92 Corolla wagon in Jamaica, using two 4A-GE 20v Blacktop turbocharged engines.

I remember seeing that at the 1st goldrush hillclimb , your correct on the motors Revhead , and I remember Dave and Graham ( both scrutineers ) saying that it wouldn't pass our club level scrutineering due to dodgy welding ( inc roll cage ), engine mounts etc . It was a pretty cool idea though.

"Understeer" is when you hit the fence with the front of the car.
"Oversteer" is when you hit the fence with the rear of the car.
"Horsepower" is how fast you hit the fence.
"Torque" is how far you take the fence with you.

In the late 70's we, at Kapiti CC, used to run a gravel sprint called Sweetman's Drive renowned as the fastest gravel sprint venue in the NI. (It later became the driveway to the Paraparaumu Lion Park).
One year a bloke turned up in a cut'nshut Mk3 Zodie with dual rear axles.
In the middle was a small bridge which this car collected and literally broke in half and he careered down the road with only the front wheels contacting the ground.

Twin engined race & rally cars are nothing new. There've been many, some even by factory teams.
