Haltech E6K on blacktop

Postby R.U.F » Fri Aug 12, 2011 12:35 pm

Hi all. More questions relating to my planned black top install to my AE85.X.

Has anyone used a Haltech E6K with coil over plugs?? Is it a straight forward set up? I havebeen offered the ecu from a friend at a good price and wonder whether it is a better solution than firewall mods or distributor relocations.

i'm 99.9% sure it can be done with 4 coil packs, or just run a Evo type coil pack and run wasted spark.

on my 5SGTE i used a distributor as a CAS and made up a slim "cap" for seal it all off.

Does the evo coil pack alternate the signal for two fires? DId you mean with the standard ecu? I got told the later WRX coils are the same. any chance you know. I have access to cheap (possibly free Subie parts)

the above might be a retarded question you probably meant instead of C.O.Ps but can't blame me for being ever hopeful.

yeah you could use a 4 post 3 wire subaru coil pack, put the E6K into wasted spark mode, you'll still need an external ignitor to fire the coils (i'm pretty sure)
