W55 Bronze bush...

Postby lorolla24 » Tue Aug 16, 2011 8:13 pm

Hi,

Need to replace the bush that the gear stick ball goes into.
I have seen a AJPS kit on Ebay.au.

Anybody got one or know someone that can make one in NZ?

Cheers,

They are pretty simple by the looks.

I will have a measure up and post it.
This is where i saw it. If you type into Google... "W55 bronze bush" and there is a guy on Toymods who gets them made.

OD need's to be 0.03 bigger so it is press fit.

Sweet.

I assume they will fit a R154 box as well, If they do I would be keen on one as I was thinking of doing the same thing.

Sweet, Glad I'm not the only one that wants this.

The guy from Niteparts said he is in the process of making some.

I just need to knock out the old one and i can take the measurments.
but a bit busy so might be next week.

If anyone else that has a gearbox apart and could measure it? Pretty sure all the w5# are the same.

CXGPWR, how much would you sell them for?

Cheers,

If you want, I can rip one of out my spare gearbox and drop it off to you, then you can just make bulk copies and flick them on trademe... and I'll take two :)

Sounds good as gold, it all depends on the price of the material used, i would think that they will be cheap though

Sounds great,

Think you should be able to use i bit of 30mm bronze bar.

From toymods, they say to put them in the freezer for the night and then heat the other part up with a heat gun and you should be able to press in with a gentle tap of the hammer.

Which is good if you want to put it in while the box is still in car.

Keep me in mind and let me know when you think you will make them.

Cheers,
