I have a similar setup with my silvertop Turbo.
VVT on at 1500 off at 6000.

When i first had the engine running, the Link ecu was controlling boost so it did not run vvt.

Now it is running vvt and same 15psi and i have made a huge mid range power and toque. It has made it way more drivable as it use to have a power band effect without VVT.(all the power at once) Power comes on very evenly with VVT.

VVT / VVTI on the inlet cam adjusts the dynamic compression ratio of the motor.

So when the motor is out of its peak VE, you can raise the dynamic compression ratio to get more bang out of less air.

Point being that thinking about it in the context of full rpm power only doesnt represent the entire advantage, having it turned on / off / whatever to suit the rpm/load conditions can make for a MUCH nicer car to drive, when you're not 100% on full throttle the whole time.

I dont know what the units are inside the cells (pulsewidth?), but the VVT map from a 2ZZGE powerfc shows a good example of how the VVTI advance changes in this way:

(rpm along top axis, engine load down the side)

Yeah VVTi that is variable is great,

but there can be a whole lot of time in making that one page in tye tune that you have posted.

When we ran dual VVTi on the XR6T focus,
it ran variable cam timing on both cams and we bought a pretuned program from Aus that they had done about a full week tuning just the VVTi timing, as that is where the power is in those motors.

Unfortunatly the 20V's are not that clever, and so there is only the option of on of off,

but you could still make a map with the same as you have posted,
but could only have 0's and 100's in it.
