Wow that onboard lap is great footage. I sat there infront of my laptop, and played the clip on full screen, pretending to drive the whole lap. Man Im fast

P.S Regarding Paris Hilton, she must have some interest in motor sport to be sponsoring a team in the 125cc GP championship.

She picked a winner too ;)

A couple of things the test driver for Autoweek is Sandoor Van Ees he is a semi professional racer and in the normal testing of the stock LFA at Goodwood last year he broke the lap record for a production car at that track.Also noticed the top speed at the Nurburgring was about 288 kph.

The reason I mention the above those above facts compared to the Chief test driver of the LFA Akira Iida he broke Van Ees lap record in the same LFA by over 2 seconds also with a passenger onboard and his top speed on the same straight on the Ring was 295 kph.

I have seen many people test drive this car but the LFA test Drivers are just on another level and they seem to be able to extract every last inch of speed out of these cars.

Yep, once you know a cars limits, its far easier to push it to that limit, and im sure, beyond it sometimes :)

It looks very prone to understeer, but I guess that means less of them will be bent around lamposts over the coming years.

Bro the understeer was right on the money but if you have a good look at that lap that test driver Akira Iida was unreal through that lap.The scarey thing is if they could dial out the understeer theres probably 2-3 more seconds in it over a 20.6 km lap.

Bet not, slight understeer is faster.

Oh well that Lexus time didn't last long as the ACR Viper has just done a time of 7 min.12.2 sec's which is really impressive to set a new production car record though I suppose with the Viper no longer in production I wonder if it counts but mightily impressive all the same.

Thats a very broard statement isnt it, Sir?

In what car? with what driver?

There are many examples of driver and car combinations who prefer a pointy car, over an understeer prone car, to extract the maximum over a lap.

Understeer suits some sure, but to say its faster over a lap than an oversteery car? How much understeer? how much oversteer? There are too many variables to make the statement and be able to apply it to all cars and drivers.

Define pointy. I bet those who like a pointy car still go slower if they get oversteer.

Revvy I was going to question you earlier understeer is no good in a RWD car at least with oversteer you can still drive the car with the throttle and steer as with understeer like it indicates you can't Steer the car you have to come off the throttle.

Personally I like a car that is pointy as then in my view its all upto me how much go peddle I like to use it may well be different for others but I'd rather have slight oversteer than under,but thats just me I guess.
