98 octane in Tawa/Johnsonville?

Postby ~SlideWays~ » Tue Sep 13, 2011 4:33 pm

Hey guys,

I'm picking my car up from some repairs in Tawa after work today and the tank is basically empty. I'd rather not put any 95 in it because I'm doing a trackday on Saturday.

It's reg on hold so I'd like to legally fill it up in Tawa/Johnsonville on the way home as I have a trackday this weekend which it'll be trailered to (intended on wofing it again after 2 years but ran out of time).

Can anyone please tell me who (if anyone) supplies 98 in that area?

Cheers

The Porirua BP has it. By North City Mall. That may be too far but it's close to Tawa.

Hmm that's the opposite direction, I'm heading down Ngauranga to the Hutt. So nothing in Jville then?

They do ?? How long have they had 98 ??

I've always either filled up at BP Mana or BP J'Ville to get 98

No idea. I went there once (I use Shell/Z normally) a couple of months ago and had to use 98 because they don't sell 95 and I won't put 91 in my car. Don't like going over the bridge to that shell. They have wires across the counters you pay at. That put me off.

Manfeild with Constructors Car Club, they have a 'driver training' day every year for members, my dad's a member so going along to test a few things.

They usually have mixed sessions so some will be 'road speed'...didn't appear that way last time...

J/Ville mobil has been selling 98 for donkeys years I always fill up there as they are about 3 cents a litre cheaper than in town.

They switched over from 95 to 98 2 or 3 months ago now (we go through a bit of bp gas through work)

Its a club event rather than a public open day thing (I've been to a couple and its only been members and family as far as I can tell) and I think it's subsidised for the CCC's members through their club fee's too so being a guest myself I don't think I have any options to invite sorry.

Lol Leon, yeah its road speed group to start off then a non-road speed group afterwards then back again. Seems like a good way to get beginners into it in any old car if you ask me!

Ok then cheers anyway.

I enjoy these days as I like to relearn stuff just to make sure that I'm actually still have a clue out there speed doesn't matter its more of getting the method right upstairs hence why going slower can make you faster in the long run so road speeds are good.

I've been putting 98 octane in the race car from J'ville BP before I sold the race car too Aaron (so that's near 4 years ago), and I was putting 98 Mobil into the Sti wagon when I owned that (so, that must be two years ago at least).

No crack pipe here.
