Radiator hose vs Compressor housing

Postby iOnic » Tue Oct 04, 2011 6:53 pm

Nearing completion so just sorting the niggly bits. The above are a bit close (read: touching) what are my options here? Will braided radiator hoses suffice? Actual braided, not chinachinachina sleeves over stock hose.

Thanks in advance

Why not just extend the metal pipe?

I'd probably cut and angle the radiator pipe upwards slightly, or if room exists raise the radiator slighty

Get a Radiator shop to move your top inlet to a more convenient spot

Good point, didn't even think of that, I've even done that many times (on alloy radiators) myself

Im not sure how much clearance you have from turbo>radiator, but could you possibly undo the 'side' mount bolt and drop/lower the motor in slotted bracket that mounts to subframe?

would that be enough to give you clearance? just a thought..

That's what I'll probably do. I think raising the radiator will work a treat. Thanks guys.

See if you can fing an AE-92 GT-Z radiator, top hose is on the extreme right of the radiator, and you can get a factory top hose that will fit perfectly from engine to radiator.

Sweet I didn't know that. Thats a good option for keeping the hose away from the turbo altogether.
