Lol, that turbine is smaller than a 737 apu! Personally I'd modify the Storch to suit the turbine, as you point out later kits are pretty big dollars.. quite liking the idea of a scale turbine Spit though! :)

if i could afford a pratt and whitney or rollys royce turbine from a 747 i would buy one... years and years ago now i was offered a j85 from a f4.... i turned it down...

The Aluxary power unit of a 747 needs to be big to cope in case turbine shut down.. mine is just a light weight turbine for hobbiest use.

normally it tskes between 2 and 4 years to get a kit aircraft into the air. i think maybe 18 months or so give or take a few years....

F-16 is just a re-think on the A4.. and we all know the A-4 is great

I always had a small soft spot for the A-1.. dont know why just makes me all warm and fuzzy

Yes, there is nothing quite like the WW2 era fighters.
Spitty and p51 ge thalf their awe from the engine. If you are building a replica I think you need to do something different. The P40 is a cool idea.
Or what about a Hurricane? Maybe Peter Jackson will pay you to use it in his movie

What about the Douglas A-1 Skyraider? That is a big plane with massive payload capabilities. Obviously more of a bomber than a fighter. I still prefer the P-51 over the other WWII planes.

I already proved my love of the A1.. such a well rounded machine.

I would like to make a replica but its a radial plane and it would look funny with a turboprop!

LOL@spending around $75,000+ ona P-40 airframe when new they were $1912 in 1940!

How big is that turbine you have?
It makes me thinking:
if that turbine is fairly small (size of car engine) wouldn't be awesome if:
put it in a car with generator coupled to it, which drives 4 electric motors that drive the car?
