Postby Bazda » Thu Oct 13, 2011 9:03 pm

Hey Guys,

Wanting to know some dimensions off a ST205 rear strut.

- The bottom strut center to center bolt distance and thickness of the hub in between.

- It's a 3 bolt pattern for the tophat (same for ST202 & ST205 etc)

- I dont know the exact distance, but it is a smaller gap than the ST202 rear struts due to the rear axles. about 1" smaller?

hub thickness 29.0mm
bolt spacing (centre) 69.0mm

I got spare struts you can borrow (no springs or top hats).

EDIT: went back and remeasured.

i got the following measurements...with a ruller...so take them as a rough guideline haha otherwise i could borrow a vernier and re measure it

looking from the rear of the car into the boot, the 3 bolt stud pattern is not symetrical like the front shocks, from the inner most bolt to the outer is 102mm, and from the outer most bolt is 102mm back to the oposite bolt from where the previous meaurement was taken, and from this bolt between the inner most bolt (first measurement start point) is 7.8mm.
underneath the car, where the hub is mounted to the shock, it was 65mm..or so.. between the two, and the thicness of the hub in between was 28mm

the shocks are dimensionally different to the st202 shocks in the rear, but yeah, those are my rough dimensions - hope they help

im assuming sergei youve measure the shocks while they were out.wasnt easy with a ruller while they on the car, id probably trust his measurements over mine

was very difficult to measure precisely due to trim obscuring top hat, here are the approximate dimensions:
.... A

.......D

B...............C

A to B 102 mm
A to C 102 mm
B to C 79 mm
B to D 56.5 mm
C to D 57.5 mm

Where D is the centre of the strut shaft.
A is the rightmost/outermost bolt
B is frontmost
C is rearmost
I have measured the right top hat, the left one will be mirrored.

Front top hat:

....... A

........D

B...............C

A to B = B to C = C to A = 110mm
A to D = D to B = D to C = 63.5mm
