Which Speakers to buy

Postby DXROLLA » Tue Oct 18, 2011 6:39 pm

I am setting up a stereo for my car which currently has nothing in it, i just want a basic system that has a decent sound, nothing flash just as long as it has a bit of doof doof.

Im currently looking at this:

Headunit: http://www.sony.co.nz/product/cdx-gt600ui

Front Speakers: http://www.sony.co.nz/product/xs-gtx1621s

Rears: Not sure

What do you think so far? As you may tell i like sony, ive had them before and never had any issues, if you can convince me other wise im all ears :D
Also not sure what rear speakers to get, i dont want 6x9s as i would have to cut holes in the rear parcel tray which i dont really want to do

Pop into Jaycar. Might be surprised at how good their speakers are for the price. They have a good range of sizes too.

I had the Response Kevlar component set in the front of my old car, they were running of a fp402 amp and people were asking if I had a sub haha (was running clarion dxz746mp heady, 5v preouts ftw).

Ive got some carbon kevlar 6x9's and an amp from jaycar. They are almost as good as the 12" sub i use to have.

I got the speakers and amp for way less than a "budget" setup from ripco
