Is there any size difference between whatever manual gearbox is attached to a ST 4AGE and E58?

yes the e58 is physically bigger , if you want to use it you will need all the shafts and hanger that goes with the e58 8)

It's for my EP82 so just trying to figure things out as I'm not too keen on cutting the rails.

My mate is currently talking with the current owner of CITNLO so hopefully some progress will ensue

maybe its just on the ae92's then? since the ae111 came with the hanger bracket similar to the gze's.

e58 on a na in theory is bad, but how many of you have done it? I did it on a standard black top and it was noticable when taking off, but nothing at all to winge about

Well put it this way, rev happy small capacity NA engines go with close ratio gearboxes right? An E58 is the opposite so why do it? Sure, it will work but its a downgrade unless you have the torque to use it.

read its more suited to turbo applications

That should provide the extra torque

Indeed it would, but his thread specifically asks about using an E58 on an NA 4age. If you add in an extra 200cc's and a turbo then the answer is different.

I've used both the E51 and the E58 (AE101 LSD one) on 4agte's and the gears would simply be too long for an NA 4age.

It will be fine temporarily. If anything it'll motivate you to get the turbo motor done.
