ST165 Off the shelf aftermarket big brakes.

Postby sergei » Wed Nov 09, 2011 8:32 am

I am looking for off-the-shelf after market (ie Willwood, Brembo, AP etc.) brake upgrade for ST165.

The reason why I want aftermarket is that I can just buy a set of rotors when I need to, without machining anything. Additionally choice of pads is better.

I hear mixed stories about Race Brakes, what are your experiences (I am going to flick them an e-mail)?
What are other alternatives?

I am after ~300mmx~30mm, 4 pot callipers.

What are my options?

chances are pretty good that some of Bazda's corolla adapter will bolt straight on for you.

the ae111 front hubs and the st185 front hubs have the same bolt spacing as I have run st185 brakes on a mac setup ae111 with no mods so bazdas kit should work just dont get it redrilled for 4 stud :)

Most are just using the ST205 brakes, cheap & looks good.
Tui has fitted some and the new motor running, let us know how you get on and let's see the car sometime

people often use them, yes, cheap (not really) as they are not easy to find.
be cheaper to go with aftermarket calipers than with St205 calipers
