4age BT blowing black smoke

Postby magweal » Fri Dec 02, 2011 9:28 pm

My black top is blowing black smoke when i put my foot deep on the throttle, I know this is over fueling but is it a quick fix. All that is done is cat removed and a pod n pipe put on.
Also any1 know why I smell burnt oil every now and then, it doesnt matter if I've driven hard or not. The engine was sitting around for about 10 months but I've been running it for the last month thinking it was excess on the mani from the conversion

If it's black smoke then it's normal and nothing to worry about. The engine runs rich under heavy throttle to stop it from melting into a giant paper-weight.
Those motors are prone to burning a tiny bit of oil too, which is also completely normal.

Burnt oil is most likely leaked or spilt oil somewhere around the exhaust system. Give the engine a good clean and see what happens / look for signs of a leak.

The lack of cat is the reason you get the black smoke more than likely.

Your oxygen sensor might have died.
