Turbocharger rebuild kits GT-T

Postby 7ishNZ » Sun Dec 04, 2011 3:01 pm

Apart from the one on TM, where can I buy a rebuild kit for a GT-T Caldina turbocharger?

Does anyone in ChCh have a turbo balancer?

Thanks...

Out of interest - what would it cost to get a GTT turbo rebuilt / reconditioned?

Mine seems fine (minimal oil, no smoke etc), but at 157kms I wonder how long I've got before I hit the expected life.

Hi have been quoted anywhere from 300 to 500, depending on the condition. It seems that the earlier you do it the better... crook bearings wear shafts and may allow the turbine or compressor to start rubbing on the housing.. then it's toast.
