First Car to be crushed

Postby solitaire » Mon Dec 12, 2011 2:31 pm

Ok who was it?

1982 Toyota Corolla, so an e70 series... hope it wasn't something rare and collectable...

Seems like a bit of a waste IMO. Just $1 reserve it on Trade Me.

I can understand the logic behind crushing someones car, but the whole process would cost several times what the car is worth.

Buddy of mine had his car confiscated and sold about ten years ago on his 3rd charge of doing dumb shit, twice doing 150km/h+ and once doing skids.

I take your KE70 and raise you an ISF
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OFEtciCveUw

But yeah seems a waste of time and money. Least by crushing it prevents the person from ever getting their car back and, 3 charges in 2years is pretty relaxed IMO. You'd think if you've been done twice the person would at least have the smarts to be good for the next however many months they need to.

Problem with selling it, is the owner can buy it back. This way they loose their car For Good

Good job. Shame he doesn't have something worth more.

Cost of doing it doesn't worry me. Much bigger drains on society / another topic all together.

I wonder how many people who dont learn after two warnings within 2 years for doing dumb shit, will learn after their car is crushed?

At first the answer seems logical, but with some, logic doesnt always prevail.

Good.

1. It'll teach the dickhead
2. It'll get an old hunk off the road.

Why on-sell it? Just more grenades on the road.

13 month disqualification means he will have to re-sit all grades of his license starting from Learners again.

I've seen some pretty immaculate pre 80s cars but a lot more post 90s cars that are neglected death traps. Agree on #1 though!

No, taxpayers win. One less rusty old corolla on cutties (90% chance) with a monkey with no licence driving it to end up in a ditch/pole with said monkey (plus a mate or two) ending up in wheelechairs costing the taxpayer $80k+ a year each

Sadly, said monkey will just go buy another shitter and drive again. Next time maybe crush car with idiot in it.

Not saying all old cars are crap... My mates got a KE20 that looks like it just rolled of the showroom.
But I'm stereotyping here, been done 3 times for skids, i'm gona say he's a dickhead bogan who wont keep his car in good condition.
