In before someone pipes up with "Just sell it and buy a GT4"

I would try trawling trademe for someones old GT4 manifold/turbo etc thats upgraded. Should* all bolt up with minimal mods. And CT26's etc are cheap as chips, just a matter of finding one thats not rooted.

I hear they pay $3 a kilo for aluminium once you have blown it up.

Get a 3SGTE, they're so cheap now. Otherwise make a turbo manifold, mash on a turbo and somehow crank the fuel up

Im with Brad, if you want a turbo 3S, then get a 3SGTE. thats probably the cheapest way to do it right. I picked up a Gen2 3SGTE and 4WD gearbox for $800. but ATM there are plenty on trade me ranging for about $1000-2500.

Nah brah don't listen to those haterz aye.

Just get a manifold and turbo off a GT4 and get a turbo ECU, then dialup the fuel 10psi all you can eat brah!

if you do it properly it wont "blow up" just because there is some positive pressure in the inlet manifold. tune it right will go better than equivalent 3sgte. driveability and power wise. to a point of course, when the high compression and engine strength become an issue.

I think you'll have a hard time blowing it up if you do it properly. This is no different to a 4AGTE build which every second 4A seems to be nowadays. If you're looking for something cheap you can mash together in a weekend and go for a thrash in.......buy a few spare engines.

I've got three 4AxE powered cars in the driveway, and none of them has + T. So I dispute your maths :P

By the time you buy a manifold, turbo, plumbing, ecu etc, PLUS all the coolant lines, oil lines, modify the sump blah blah blah.

Just buy either a GT4 or a turbo motor (even if its a blown up one), that way you have all the shit there ready to go.

Get a 3sgte conversion from trademe and run your standard box and driveline. Cheapest and easiest.

 It would appear that my math is as flawed as your driveway is boring :P
