3SGTE code 47

Postby Dell'Orto » Fri Jan 20, 2012 5:53 pm

WTH is that? I cant find any reference to it in the BGB. I have just swapped out the Blitz Access ECU for a standard one, but its from a 91 car (I think, mine is 90) - might be whats causing it?

"code 47 means sub-tps circuit fault or idl2 and vta2 voltage too high (>1.5v) according to my draper diognostics fault finding manual"

I did find that one Mark, but no-one seems to know what exactly it means, or how accurate it is.

Maybe your ecu is for a really early gen2? like 12.91 ? and is having a spazz because it doesn't have the TRC?

ECU # 89661-17380, so yeah would appear to be a later ECU. Feck. Though reading that thread about PFCs would suggest it oughtnt give any issues. Only really want it to run the motor in on.
Though upon Googling, it most people say its a Gen 3 ECU, which this definitely isnt.

Hmmm, does the fact that I have the throttle body from an early sw20 3sgte and the same ECU (x2) as Dell'Orto mean I'll have trouble when I finally get this back together?

Nevermind, just saw TRC was only an option in cars with ABS, which mine doesn't have. This must mean the error is being generated by the TRC computer (might be the same computer as ABS?)

yep, time to pull ABS error codes and figure out what you forgot to plug back in.

$&#$% it. Car does all sorts of weird shit with that ECU in, and wont start. Blitz ECU back in, no trouble codes (bonus!) but I cant get the ABS codes to go at all. If I unplug the service connector the ABS light goes out and nothing else happens.
Anyone got a spare ABS ECU?

If it's the same thing I had, it won't go out until the car has actually been driven. Had that on mine when I replaced my stock ECU. ABS light stayed on but on the first drive it went out and self checked ok from then onwards

Last time I had to reset ABS light on ST205 I had to jump through all sort of hoops.

Nah should have mentioned, ABS light was on prior to swapping ECU's, I thought it may have had a hand in the code 47
Sergei - I cant get the ABS codes to come up at all, light just goes off when I unplug the service connector. I've yet to check the connections, but the BGB would suggest that the ABS ECU itself is dud
