at that price, I'd want to inspect it awfully carefully before I trusted my spine to it.

I had to look at it again to realise it was for the pair!!! 8O . Would most definitely be looking at what material the base is manufactured out of.

Is it possible to trust a seat for that price with your spine? Doesn't leave much room for quality components surely.

Hmm all right cheers guy.

I dont suppose any one in the auckland area would like to check them out for me :)

Iv been recommened the nzkw ones, the highlight of the cheap chinese ones were the leather though, which nzkw dont have, but its not a major however.

I don't know because I've never seen these seats ever :)

NZKW seats did not re-assure me that they were good quality on inspection.

I've got a Momo t-frame and a Racetech 100 in my club car. Neither of them cost a fortune, and I'm fairly confident in the build quality of them. If I was rallying, or racing in a grid though, I'd look at Racetech FIA standard seats as a useful safety upgrade (as I am aware that both my seats are entry level competition as far as safety goes).

Whilst on the topic of race seats...
Whats a nice wide seat for the fittament of the husky gentleman?
Need something reasonably wide.
Even sitting in all evo's up to 7+ the sides dig into my ribcage and the bases are only just wide enough and are not very comfortable (I know they're not proper fixed race seats, but it gives you an idea).

Honda CL1 EuroR Recaros are nice and would be good for a husky framed person. They don't have much in the way of side support though.

Otherwise Racetech do a wide seat

One word...

Racetch.

Because your spine deserves better than stuff made by chinese children that is built to pass absolutely no safety load tests.

The cheap seats that are all over TM are for showcar use and nothing more imho.

Racetech do wide fitting seats.

Sparco Evo XL is awesome seat for the big asses.

I'm not cashed up enough for either yet (When I am, pair of Sparco Evo XL for me) so I run an older Corbeau steel frame seat with some slight bottle-jacking to improve the width.

I helped a club member to fit some NZKW seats and their mounting method is holes drilled through the fiberglass seat and put a bolt through from the inside .
I upgraded him to panel washers from the normal washers supplied but I still wouldn't want to be in one in a crash.

I imagine the ones your looking at are the same.

i would recommend Racetech too as they have crash tested their seats , you get what you pay for .

"Torque" is how far you take the fence with you.

Cheers for all your opinions guys.

One more question, when your saying you wouldn't want to be in a crash in one of the cheaper seats, are we comparing to a FIA approved seat, or standered seats?

My mr2 will just be a road car and possibly doing track work one day in the future.

I'd say both, the standard seats have also been crash tested and should't fall apart in the event of a crash, unlike the cheap seat which have weak mounting points that wont hold up in a crash

both.
Hell, in their day, the kelvar Autosport race seat was considered to be the 'ducks nuts'.............. until they started to fail on impact. and that was a reputable brand, not some shitty knock-off made in the cheapest method/material possible.
