Intercooler mounting - whats your thoughts

Currently mounting the I/C on my car and im in two minds of how to mount it, i can etheir have it mounted right up behind the grill or down low out the bottom.

To me i like the stealth look with it tucked away behind the grill, bad point about this is il have have to cut the back of the grill and under-grill peice out to make it fit (about 1 1/2"-2") which i dont like doing on old cars, also this method will limit my space to fit my oil cooler as i was looking at mounting this up behind the grill.

The other option is having it mounted below the bumper, this means i wont have to cut into anything except for the valence which i would have cut and then professionally panel beated to fit around the Intercooler to look reasonably factory, this still means it will be hanging a fair way out the bottom which is another thing im not too keen on, but it could work.

let me know what you guys think and what your point of view is on it

My point of view would be that if you can completely tuck it away from view, do that. IMO will always look better than a cooler hanging down below everything else.

Yeah get it out of sight.
Oil cooler can be mounted easier elsewhere as it's smaller and not as critical to have the same kind of air flow to it.

Up high - low intercoolers look ricey

As Rev said - it's much easier to mount the oil cooler in a different place than to try and get a low intercooler looking good

yeah i cant stand the way the aussies love throwing massive intercoolers on old cars, hanging out the bottom like that.

to my mind a 'classic' should be kept as original looking as possible.

i was running a smaller one on the last engine setup but decided to go to a larger one for better cooling and flow as the previous one had restricted air flow getting to it because it was tucked behind the valence, even if i had a smaller one up top behind the grill i would have to cut the back of the grill out because there is very little room behind there so if im going to cut the back of the grill out to make room for the i/c i may aswell stick with the larger one
