Edaboc lancer impounded for breaking the law

Postby ch4ng » Wed Jan 25, 2012 12:30 am

It seems that this brand (edaboc streetwear) while doing a lot of publicity for their own brand is giving the car enthusiast community a bad name. Is it a case of more money than sense already?

Here's what they said on Facebook:
This weekend, Edaboc was supposed to do a feature at the 2012 V 4 & Rotary Nationals, which was our Edaboc Evo jumping over 5 cars. However the Edaboc Evo will not be jumping at the show due to the car being impounded in Hamilton during a road test. However the Drive Rush stunt show is still going ahead.
Edaboc would like to apologise to all our supporters, fans, sponsors and especially to 4 & Rotary Promotions for letting them down. Edaboc are still planning to do the jump, which will be held in conjunction with another 4 & Rotary event later in the year & will be bigger and better!

I like what Edaboc are doing, for themselves and the motorsport scene. they could have spun a yarn and said the car was broken but they were honest.

Without knowing the circumstances I think they deserve the benefit of the doubt.

Given they posted youtube footage of throwing the car around in a dead end street in what looked like an industrial area they can $&#$% off with their contribution to the motorsport scene.

Yeah, I have to say, people doing heli's and burnouts isn't helping my attempts to get sealed venues for autocrossing much good.

the same goes for the "CHOP" brand that sells mainly flatpeak caps

ive never ever seen a "CHOP" sticker on a car that wasnt riced the $&#$% out and driven by a shithead

it seems being a shithead is now a super popular fashion considering entire clothing lines are being created for it?

I dont think throwing edaboc stickers over any 'stanced' car thats going to be featured in NZPC, could really be considered doing anything good for the motorsport scene.

Like all the other associated brands that seem to be a prerequsite to having your car featured in the mag, It is nothing more than product placement, aimed at impressionable youth whose frontal lobes arent developed enough yet to know that their behaviour is stupid.

140 in a 50, or 200, either way it is idiotic behaviour.

Its just such a shame that the police dont differentiate between flatpeakers and genuine car enthusiasts who go to the track when they wont to blow off steam, we are all presumed guilty until proven innocent. Thats where having a good attitude helps alot :)

hah - NZPC is a bit of a joke these days anyway though innit?

last copy i read was about 2 years ago - the poster car was a "sakked owt" Minitruck hilux - it had nothing really in it that made it stqnd out - it had chrome wheels - it was super low on airbag suspension so he could "flick switchez fo da bitchez" and it had an expensive candy paintjob - nothing above the average idiot who can apply for a GE Money loan - and that was the case with this one - the article basically went on along the lines of "yeah this is what you can acheive if you tick up enough shit bro!"

pretty sad actually now that i think about it - years ago NZPC would feature awesome cars where the owners had really put work into it - now they just feature people that have dropped it off to the local "bodykitz boost n Rimz" shop with a Instant finance blank Cheque D:

that aside - 200kmh in a 50? for $&#$% sakes thats retarded on a level rarley acheived!

With the internet these days it would only be a matter of time before the truth came out. So i'm not sure they really had a choice in the matter.

I meh'd.
