$750 to replace springs is a joke really. Just fshing for business and seeing if people will fall for it. Like when i went for an alignment on my car years ago and the guy who did wof's smacked my steering universal with a sledge hammer to try and make a point that it didn't fit properly. Funny thing was it bolted straight on and had no problems.

Buy usually springs take an hour maybe 1 hour and half if they're a bit tired, but definitely go to a place that's reputable next time and maybe not go down the discount voucher alley. I saw them advertised and thought at the time what a joke that is. They probably are looking for new clients which is fair but you'd think they wouldn't be such c&^@%s with the inspection.

I had a similar situation a while ago.

A young woman took a Lancer to VTNZ and was failed on a couple of minorish things (cant remember what it was), they brought it us (mitsi dealership) and got us to fix it, then realised they were over the 28 days and asked us to do a wof. Yeh sure, thats easy. Problem, the car had less than 100mm ground clearance front and rear, plus the front springs didnt fit the shocks correctly. We went through the ususal process of pricing the job to fix it, new front and rear springs (kings), ended up about $500 ish.

So we inform the customer, for a week I got a phone caal from the womans father everyday because he couldnt get his head around it, ends up calling me every name under the sun and says he will take the car back to VTNZ and bring it back and show me the wof. Unfortunately he never came back in. I was looking forward to it coming back in for the spring replacement and rubbing it in his face
Hi Im Ben, Have a nice day :)

looks like you were on the opposite side of a similar situation where the customer is the one not thinking straight :D

I've had issues with A1 in New Lynn to, i'd never go back. Just a bunch of lazy pricks who didn't really know what they were on about.
