What's it from & going in to?
I like the vise.
Racks have a lot of side force, so I'd gusset.
In the last pic, I don't know what that bar that's laying on top of the bolted on strap is doing or going to do. Good luck.
*******
Also, bump steer!!!!!

Hard to tell if any of it will work without seeing it on the car etc.

But I like the mount welded into the box section, weld that up, cap the end, and gusset it to stop sideways flex it would probably all good.

The last pic looks like you are trying to extend the cap to put the bolt in a different place? if so Id throw that out. Id find another mount setup that has 1 bolt and the other end is a hook. Search pickapart etc for it. That way you dont need to extend etc and its a simple and easy solution.
Hi Im Ben, Have a nice day :)

Its from a subaru and going into my celica v8, its the bottom mounts that are the problem, i think the top will look very tidy when finished, its the bottom caps that are the prob, didnt think of having a hook at one end.... yeah in the last pic its an idea of how to extend the cap and have room for a bolt

Possibly a silly question, but have you talked to your LVV certifier about this?

There was that fatal where the guy bought the WRX with the Lexus 8 in it, he jumped in and basically almost immediately killed himself because it bump steered off the road.

After this, they've gone really keen and careful about rack changes etc.

So, that is the reason why I ask :D

Don't get me started on certers and bump steer issue....
Nostalgia told me the Stagea was too low, and gave the steering arm a bad angle so it would have bum psteer.... So raised it to please him... Have since dropped it 60mm under cert height.. NO BUMP STEER OMGZZ!!?!?!
